Saturday
Before we left we got our nails done and we stopped into Marks & Spencer to buy sandwiches to eat on the train. They have packaged sandwiches in the grocery stores where we would probably get fast food through a drive-thru. And the sandwich was really, really good!
Nottingham has lots more shops and is a little bit bigger of a city than Derby. I've heard so many great things about Primark, which is a store here similar to Forever 21, but has lots more stuff, so I really wanted to go there. Derby has a Primark, but the one in Nottingham is bigger and better. I ended up getting a nice dress for pretty cheap and Lauren bought a ring in a little jewelry shop.
After doing some shopping we went up to Nottingham Castle, known to be the castle from the "Robin Hood" stories. Sherwood Forest is close by too. It was a really cool place to see and, as you see, I had my picture made with the statue of Robin Hood! Here's a couple more pictures of the castle:
Sunday
We were able to walk up to the castle and search around the park until we came to it. The path leading up to the castle had really nice scenery and it was good to be out of the city a little! There was an old well and an archway made of rock and a little pond.
Then after we got up to the castle there was a grave yard and a little maze made from the hedges. There was also a temple and the big church next to the graveyard. The castle itself is being worked on but still looked really nice and there is a little cafe you can eat in.
Really nice 'English' place. :)
Still loving life in England!
